Haikus inspired by shells in a wooden bowl

Somehow I missed this one from the prior week! The prompt was Shells:

skeletal remains

curved twisted scalloped

decorative bones

what a life to lead

filter water in darkness

then shucking knife death

inert calcium

a final resting place

do they hope for more?

wooden bowl cradle

nestled shells intertwined

spooning galore

seashells

formerly mobile

now spider houses

comfortable space

snug as bugs in rugs

just ask the dust mites

if I asked a shell

where in the pile is better

what would it answer?

when we scoop shells out

what does the bowl feel?

like it’s giving birth?

dust and cobwebs

on order from Amazon

self-applying too

where are the flowers?

the essential potpourri?

something smells fishy

lying loose

or tied to a string

hung out to dry
